This scarf was woven on a 2 colour echo weave threading, meaning that both colours follow the same warp threading order, but a few shafts apart and interleaved; so I threaded blue, red, blue, red all across. The warp is a 3 ply Japanese silk which I inherited from a weaver friend who died a while back, and which I overdyed to get the blue and red I wanted. The weft yarn is my usual 30/2s Chinese silk which I buy undyed and dye it myself. The scarf measures 70” x 11”, plus the tasselled fringe at either end.

Care advice: hand wash in tepid water with a little detergent, (I use shampoo), and steam press to bring out the full shine of the silk.
